Exposed Fake Kunming Popular News Story Debunked

Now that Kunming officially is the fake capital of China, IP Dragon sent a stringer there and in the name of genuineness and gonzo journalism we break the following shocking news. The reputable China Hearsay, got a tip from an anonymous blogger in Kunming. China Hearsay's intern Kiki confirmed the news. That all the people that sit in the press room of the highly popular Popular News in Kunming are actors, read here.

As said, IP Dragon did some research of its own: "We got news from our stringer in Kunming, that the anonymous blogger that informed Mr Abrams was in fact Wolfgang Wang."
The very same Wolfgang Wang started an affair with Kiki, China Hearsay's intern. It became clear that together they fabulated the news that the Popular Press was not a foreign bureau. However, when we tried to  translate the transcripts of  their official reaction we were unable. That foreign. And a background check on Wolfgang Wang demonstrated the following: Wolfgang Wang was misleading Kiki about the origins of the Popular Press, while making a fortune from speculating that its stock price would plummet. And worst of all distracting her from making any real discovery about his fake Kunming BMW dealership.

假 Jia and the Schwindlerrepublic China

Kai Strittmatter wrote 'Gebrauchsanweisung für China' which means User guide for China in German (2004/2008). Especially the chapter "Jia, Alles gefälscht. Oder: Die Schwindlerrepublik" (pp 175-186) is an interesting chapter about all aspects of "the People's Republic of Cheats", which is explanation the Far Eastern Economic Review (a high quality magazine that no longer exists) came up with for the abbreviation of PRC as Strittmatter makes clear.

It includes the following anecdote which I paraphrase here:

A farmer who bought from his last money some seeds. But how long he waited no plant would grow. The seeds were fake. The farmer did not want to live any longer and committed suicide by drinking rat poison. But nothing happened, the rat poison was fake. The whole family of the farmer was very happy and they opened a bottle of good rice wine. The farmer went down, because he fell victim to the lethal fake rice wine.

81.5 percent of Counterfeit Products in Japan originates from China

The Japan Times is running (and probably translated) Kyodo News' article which is quoting Japan's Finance Ministry saying that 81.5 percent of counterfeit products come from China.
  • Japan's 9 customs houses handled 26,415 cases of fake imported goods in 2008, up 16.6 percent from 2007 and the seventh consecutive record;
  • Cases linked to China (excluding Hong Kong), grew 33.6 percent from the previous year to 21,529;
  • compared with 2004 the number of counterfeit itmes from China expanded about sixfold in 2008.

Read The Japan's Times article here.

In the video below you can see how the seized counterfeit goods, including fake Louis Vuitton bags, are being destroyed by Japanese customs (in the text under the moving images you can see the Kanji, which are the Chinese characters the Japanese also use: 中国 for China, plus 82 percent, which refers to the rounded up 81.5 percent of all seized counterfeits goods by Japanese customs that originate from China).
